Professor Hafizul Islam was associated with UCEP Bangladesh since 1972 and remained a longstanding member of the UCEP Association. He passed away at the age of 88 on January 23, 2023.
Professor Islam was a Director and Faculty Member at the Institute of Social Welfare and Research, University of Dhaka. He received a United Nations fellowship and earned his MSW degree from Michigan University, USA. Additionally, he pursued advanced training in Social Administration and Social Research under the Health Education Welfare Department of Washington, D.C., USA. His research contributions focused on family planning, nutrition, female enrollment and dropout rates in primary schools, and the challenges faced by disabled children in Dhaka city.
