Mr. Hossain Toufique Imam

Mr. Hossain Toufique Imam had been associated with UCEP Bangladesh since 2003.
He served as the Political Adviser to the Prime Minister from 2014 and previously held the position of Adviser on Public Administration from 2009 to 2014.
Born on January 15, 1939, Mr. Imam completed his undergraduate degree in Economics from Rajshahi University and earned a Master’s from the University of Dhaka. He further pursued a postgraduate degree in Development Administration from the London School of Economics.
His career began as a Lecturer in Economics at Rajshahi Government College before joining the Pakistan Civil Service in 1962. During the Liberation War, he defected from the Pakistani government and served as the Cabinet Secretary to the Government of Bangladesh.
Throughout his distinguished career, he contributed significantly to public administration, serving as Project Director of the Public Administration Training and Management Project (now BPATC) and as Secretary to the Ministries of Establishment, Communications, and the Planning Division.
