Ensuring Gender Equality (SDG 5)
Over the past two decades, Bangladesh has made significant progress in gender equality, particularly in school enrollment. However, disparities persist in technical education and employment. UCEP Bangladesh promotes gender equality by ensuring equal access to TVET education and life skills training for both males and females. In 2023-24, 14,501 girls and women enrolled in UCEP’s programs, accounting for 37% of total enrollment. The organization also prioritizes the inclusion of 5% persons with disabilities (PWDs) and 3% ethnic minorities. Through targeted outreach, UCEP strives to further increase female enrollment, empowering women for meaningful careers in line with SDG 5. The organization ensures gender equality across all programs and operations, working to eliminate discrimination and violence against women and girls while promoting inclusion for marginalized groups.
