Dr. Ahmadullah Miah

Dr. Ahmadullah Mia served as the first Director of UCEP Bangladesh from July 31, 1988, to August 31, 1998. His position was later upgraded to Executive Director.

Before joining UCEP Bangladesh, Dr. Mia was a Professor at the Institute of Social Welfare and Research, University of Dhaka. He obtained his MA from the University of Dhaka and later earned his Doctor of Social Welfare (DSW) from Western Reserve University, United States.

Dr. Mia worked as a researcher and consultant with the Planning Commission and various United Nations agencies. His study, Child Labour in Dacca City, played a pivotal role in inspiring the formation of organizations dedicated to children’s education and employment.

He is widely recognized for his contributions to human resource development and played a key role in securing funding for UCEP Bangladesh from various international donor agencies, who greatly appreciated his performance.

During his tenure, UCEP Bangladesh expanded its programs to Rajshahi. After serving the organization for 10 years, he retired from UCEP.
