Brig. General (Retd.) Aftab Uddin Ahmed

Brigadier General (Retd.) Aftab Ahmed served as the Executive Director of UCEP Bangladesh from August 18, 2002, to December 31, 2013, playing a pivotal role in expanding its activities across all divisional cities. His leadership significantly contributed to the organization’s growth and impact.

A graduate in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from BUET, Mr. Ahmed began his career at the Pakistan Military Academy, later receiving a commission in the Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Corps. Rising through the ranks, he was promoted to Brigadier General in the Bangladesh Army and later served as the Managing Director of Bangladesh Machine Tools Factory. He also pursued advanced training in the United States, Germany, and Japan.

Following his retirement from UCEP Bangladesh, he held key roles as the Chief Executive Officer of the Center for Excellence, Bangladesh Apparel Industries, an Adviser to The World Bank, and the Director of the Skills Development Program at BRAC.

Mr. Ahmed passed away on May 14, 2020, leaving behind a son, a daughter, and many well-wishers who remember his dedication and contributions.
