UCEP Bangladesh Launches ‘Climate Smart Agri-Enterprise Development’ Course

UCEP Bangladesh officially launched its new ‘Climate Smart Agri-Enterprise Development’ course on 10 June 2026 at Cheyne Hall, UCEP Bangladesh, Mirpur, Dhaka. Organized by the Dhaka North Region (DNR), the programme marks an important step toward equipping young people with the skills needed to build sustainable and climate-resilient agricultural enterprises.
The event began with a welcome address by Engr. Syed Nazim Obayed, Principal of UIST-Dhaka & In-Charge of UCEP Dhaka North Region. Mr. Md. Kamrul Islam, Senior Specialist and Course Coordinator at UCEP Bangladesh, presented an overview of the course, highlighting its objectives and strategic design.
Dr. Rumman Shafi Queaderi, Trainer and CEO of Agric Planet, emphasized the importance of practical, hands-on technical training in developing successful and sustainable agripreneurs. As Special Guest, Dr. Md. Golam Ferdous Chowdhury, Principal Scientific Officer (PSO) of the Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI), underscored the need for climate-smart agricultural technologies to address emerging environmental and climate challenges.
The programme also featured valuable insights from Mr. Abu Saleh Mohammed Ferdous Khan, Director, Public Partnership Management; Ms. Nazmun Nahar, Director, Finance & Compliance; and Engr. Mohd. Abdul Mannan, Director, Programme and Innovations. They highlighted the significance of youth skill development, institutional sustainability, and innovation-driven entrepreneurship in the agricultural sector.
The ceremony was chaired by Dr. Md. Abdul Karim, Executive Director of UCEP Bangladesh. In his remarks, he reaffirmed UCEP Bangladesh’s commitment to developing skilled human resources and strengthening economic resilience through climate-smart entrepreneurship. The event concluded with the participation of members of the Senior Management Team (SMT), trainers, students, and UCEP staff, reflecting a shared commitment to building a greener, more sustainable future through skills and innovation.
