UCEP Bangladesh organized a special event “UCEP Journey: Bangabandhu and Cheyne” on September 06, 2022 at its head office, Mirpur-2, Dhaka. Dr. Dipu Moni MP, Hon’ble Education Minister was present as the chief guest in this, The Guest of Honor was H.E. Mr. David Pine, New Zealand High Commissioner for Bangladesh. Mr. NM Zeaul Alam PAA, Senior Secretary Information and Communication Technology Division, Dr. Ubaidur Rob, Past Chairperson of UCEP Bangladesh, Mr. Md. Rezaul Maksud Jahedi, Additional Director General (Joint Secretary), Department of ICT and Mr. Neaz Ahmed, Honorary Consul for New Zealand in Bangladesh were present as the special guests. The event was presided over by the UCEP Chairperson Ms. Parveen Mahmud FCA and hosted by UCEP Executive Director Dr. Md. Abdul Karim.
At the beginning of the program, Dr. Karim, Executive Director of UCEP Bangladesh delivered the welcome speech and provide power point presentation. Chief guest Dr. Dipu Moni praised UCEP Bangladesh for its outstanding contribution to the expansion of technical education since 1972. She thanked UCEP for initiating various trainings on professional skills, entrepreneurship development and courses to address Fourth Industrial Revolution (4th IR) and ICT. She also expressed that these activities of UCEP would help in achieving to fulfill the dream of Sonar Bangla, dreamt by the greatest Bangalee of all time, the father of the Nation, Banabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
H.E. Mr. David Pine mentioned that he is very delighted to see the UCEP’s contribution on technical education, its expansion and support to the underprivileged children and youth. UCEP Chairperson Ms. Parveen Mahmud FCA expressed her gratitude to its founder Mr. Cheyne and humbly acknowledge the support received from Bangabandhu by Mr. Allan Cheyne during UCEP’s inception in 1972.
The event ended with a captivating cultural program performed by the students of UCEP Bangladesh.
