The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) on 30 December, 2021 awarded 61 organizations for their performance in corporate governance.
The ICMAB, at its flagship event organized in a city hotel, honored the organizations with ‘Best Corporate Award 2020’ in 18 categories after reviewing their performances based on respective annual reports. Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi addressed the award ceremony as the chief guest while Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) Chairman Prof. Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam, Standard Bank Limited Chairman Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed, and South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) President AKM Delwer Hussain spoke as special guests.
UCEP Bangladesh has won the Silver Award of Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) Best Corporate Award-2020 in the NGO category.
Ms. Nazmun Nahar, Director Finance and Compliance received the award from Hon’ble Commerce Minister Mr. Tipu Munshi MP. Mr. Md. Abdul Karim, Executive Director, UCEP Bangladesh (Former Principal Secretary to GoB) was present on the occasion.
The annual ‘Best Corporate Award’, which the ICMAB started in 2007, is given based on the review of the contestant entities’ corporate governance and other qualitative and quantitative information published in respective annual reports. Best corporate awards are given considering various qualitative and quantitative criteria which are prepared taking into consideration the guidelines of SAFA, CAPA, IFAC and internationally accepted principles for judging the economic, effective and efficient operation of the corporate houses/institutions.
