UCEP strives for continuous development of its technical educational programs with a view to providing high quality workforces for decent jobs in the growing labor market of Bangladesh. The recent economic growth of the country projects a huge demand of technical workforces for fulfilling the requirements of various industries. Moreover, the Textile and Readymade Garments (RMG) sector accounts for higher percentage of workforce requirements to fulfill its growing demands. The available supply side scenario of skilled workforces of textile and RMG sectors shows a huge gap between supply and demands. Moreover, quality of skills and knowledge required for the industries are also in most cases missing compared to the national and international standard. This situation is continuing, so foreign experts are meeting these gaps to our Textile and RMG sector. Bangladesh will export high quality garment products in future for which highly skilled technical manpower will be required.
With a view to producing quality human resources particularly for the Textile and RMG sector, a specialized institute would help to fulfil the gap between supply and demands. UCEP has explored the potentials of establishing such a specialized technical education institute in a suitable location of Dhaka as most of the industries are clustered in and around Dhaka city.
Vision
To make the Shaheed Khalek UCEP Textile Institute (SKUTI) a center of excellence by providing contemporary international standard industry-oriented technical education in the field of Textile and RMG sector through high quality teaching and interaction with local and foreign industries and institutions.
