February 21, 2024 International Mother Language Day was celebrated with due dignity at Amar Ekushey February at UCEP Kashimpur Technical School. On the occasion of International Mother Language Day, the students of the school came to the Central Shaheed Minar in the first hour of Ekush to pay respect to language martyrs. This tower of Bengali grief and pride is full of flowers. The teacher of the school highlighted the importance of celebrating this day with due dignity among the students and said that on February 1952, people took to the streets to demand the Bengali language. Section 144 was issued, breaking the chain of exploiters. The streets are covered in blood. The chest was torn open by bullets. Rafiq, Shafiq, Salam, Barkat, Jabbar and many others were martyred. They created history with their lives for the language. Bengali gets the status of national language. The nation remembers with flowers and respects those who sacrificed their lives standing in front of the bullets of the Pakistani ruler for the demand of Bengali as the national language, whose sacrifice Bengali got the right to language.
On the occasion of the day, rallies, discussion meetings, and painting competitions were organized with the students of the school, and Amar Ekush’s timeless song ‘Amar Bhai’s Blood Rangano Ekushe February’ was played. The teachers and students of the school stood silently for a while and paid their respects to the language martyrs. Also pays tribute to the language martyrs by offering floral tributes. After the felicitation, prizes were distributed among the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners of the painting competition.
