International Mother Language Day is celebrated annually on February 21. This movement began as a Bangla language movement in East Pakistan, now the independent country of Bangladesh. It was started to preserve the Bangla language that was widely spoken by the people of Bangladesh. This day is equally important for us to know that there are multiple languages in the world and we must strive to preserve their heritage and existence.
In February 21, 2023 an International Mother Language Day was observed the UCEP Rangpur City Corporation Technical School premise.
On behalf of the school, wreaths were placed in the premises of Shaheed Minar to the tune of songs with deep respect to the language martyrs.
As a token of love and respect to language martyrs, all the students and teachers of the school wore black badges and remembered language. On the occasion of the International Mother Language Day, the day was observed with due dignity at the School premise. The occasions, drawing and easy competition were organized among the students.
The school program starts for recitation of the Holy Quran, after that one minutes silence was deeply respect to the language martyrs.
The chief guest (Ln. Md. Azharul Islam – Associate Professor, Begum Rokeya Govt. College) delivered the valuable speech with the deeply respect of language martyrs. The chief guest said that, all the students should know properly about the language movement of history and how the mother tongue was achieved.
The chief guest and special guest of the event presented the prize among the winning students and Mr. Md. Ziaur Rahman, Head of Technical School closing occasion was announced by the enjoying the cultural program.
