UCEP Bangladesh observed “Cheyne Day”, the 35th death anniversary of its Founder Mr. Lindsay Allan Cheyne. Various events maintaining proper COVID-19 precautions were chalked out on the day.
A commemorative program was organized at the Christian Cemetery in Narinda, Dhaka where Mr. Neaz Ahmed, Honorary Consul of New Zealand in Bangladesh was the special guest. Ms. Parveen Mahmud FCA, Chairperson, UCEP Bangladesh and Mr. Md. Abdul Karim, Executive Director, UCEP Bangladesh (former Principal Secretary to PM) fondly remembered the contributions of Mr Cheyne and paid tribute to him. Members of the UCEP Board of Governors and UCEP Association, UCEP Senior officials and former students also paid homage to Cheyne by placing wreaths on his grave at Dhaka Christian Cemetery, Narinda.
Mr. Cheyne and his UCEP enjoyed the patronage of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
