UCEP Bangladesh Organizes a Vibrant “Job Fair 2025” in Gazipur for youth jobseekers and employers

In an inspiring initiative to promote youth employment, UCEP Bangladesh successfully hosted the Job Fair 2025 at its Gazipur Regional Office premises in a festive and inclusive atmosphere. The fair brought together employers and job seekers, creating a dynamic platform for interaction and opportunity.

The event was chaired by Dr. Ubaidur Rob, Chairperson of UCEP Bangladesh’s Board of Governors. The Chief Guest was Dr. Md. Mohiuddin, Honorable Secretary of the Ministry of Social Welfare, Government of Bangladesh. Special Guests included Ms. Nafisa Arefin, Deputy Commissioner of Gazipur; Dr. Md. Nazmul Karim Khan, Police Commissioner of Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP); Md. Rezaur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner of Gazipur and Dr. Md. Abdul Karim, Executive Director of UCEP Bangladesh.

The event was formally inaugurated by Dr. Md. Mohiuddin, Secretary of the Ministry of Social Welfare, who, standing before a crowd of aspiring young professionals, emphasized the importance of hands-on skills in the ever-evolving job market. In his inaugural speech, he emphasized, “In today’s highly competitive job market, technical and vocational skills are essential. Our youth must not only seek jobs but also aspire to become entrepreneurs and job creators.”

The UCEP Chairperson Dr. Ubaidur Rob highlighted, “Many of our overseas workers lack adequate technical skills, which limits their income potential. Equipping them with proper skills before migration could significantly boost national remittance inflows.”

Md. Shohel Rana, the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Human Resource Development noted, “With relevant technical expertise, today’s youth can overcome any challenge. If they prepare according to global industry demands, they will lead the Fourth Industrial Revolution.” The GMP Police Commissioner Dr. Md. Nazmul Karim Khan praised UCEP’s efforts to increase female participation in technical training and promote overseas employment opportunities for skilled youth.

Recalling UCEP’s legacy, Executive Director Dr. Md. Abdul Karim stated, “UCEP not only enhances technical competencies but also opens up new pathways for underprivileged youth. Currently, UCEP is providing skill development training to over 30,000 youth annually across 42 trade courses, empowering them with confidence and opening doors to opportunity.”

Md. Humayun Kabir, Regional Manager, UCEP Gazipur Region Welcomed all the precious guest through his welcome speech. It is was attended by members of UCEP Bangladesh SMT Engr. Mohd. Abdul Mannan, Director, Program & Innovations, Gazipur Advisory Committee, Employer Committee, Entrepreneurship Development Committee, job seekers, students, faculty members, and other dignitaries.

A total of 21 prominent companies participated in the fair, setting up stalls and engaging directly with prospective candidates. Key participants included: PRAN Group, Mondol Group, Standard Group, NAZ Group, Priti Group, DBL Group, and several other reputed national firms. Employers collected approximately 2520 job applications, with nearly 1516 applications shortlisted for the next stages of recruitment.

UCEP Bangladesh once again proved that with the right skills, guidance, and opportunities — dreams do come true.
